Why AV Companies Are Putting Their Logo on Their MagnetMate Kit

Why AV Companies Are Putting Their Logo on Their MagnetMate Kit

MagnetMate BodyGrip and FlexCap clips are used by professional AV crews across Australia to mount wireless lapel packs on presenters with no belt, no pocket, and no time to improvise. A growing number of those crews are now ordering them with a company logo engraved directly into the aluminium.

Austage Events, a Melbourne-based AV production company, is the latest. Their order of custom logo-engraved BodyGrip clips arrived this week , and it's a good example of why professional teams are making this call.

What Custom Engraving on MagnetMate Clips Actually Means

Every MagnetMate clip is machined from solid aluminium. Laser engraving cuts directly into the powder-coated surface: a company logo, production title, or crew name, permanently into the metal.

It won't scratch off. It won't fade. One engraved set of clips lasts as long as the clips themselves.

We now run a dedicated xTool P3 laser system for this work: 950 x 450mm bed, 80W CO2 for production volume, and a 5W infrared module for fine detail on metal surfaces. The infrared handles logo work cleanly: tight tolerances, clean edges, consistent depth across small clip surfaces.

Why AV Companies Are Doing This

Gear attribution without the admin.  In a shared production environment: multiple crews, multiple cases, a long bump-out at the end of the night , engraved clips go back in the right case. No sorting, no disputes, no losses.

When your company's name is on the gear, the gear becomes part of how you present.  It says you sweat the details. Which, in live events, is the thing that matters most. Clients see it. Talent notices. It's a small detail that communicates something bigger about how you work.

Standardisation.  When a company engraves their clips, they're committing to a mounting system. Not whatever's available on the day , a defined, repeatable process. That consistency improves workflows across every job.

A professional image that holds up on camera.  MagnetMate clips are already designed to be invisible on talent. Engraved with a company logo, they're also unmistakably professional when anyone does look closely.

The Austage Events Order

Austage Events is a Melbourne AV production company running events across corporate, conference, and live production environments. They ordered BodyGrip clips with their logo engraved using the 5W infrared module.

Clean edges. Tight detail. Permanent.

It's not a one-off customisation. It's a decision about how their kit is managed, how it's presented, and how it performs across every job from here.

Which MagnetMate Products Can Be Engraved?

Custom engraving is available across the full MagnetMate range: BodyGrip, BodyMax, FlexCap, RepMount, AdaptMount, and the HD Comms clip. Every product page includes an engraving option at checkout.

For logo work, upload a high-resolution file (vector preferred) and we confirm the details before production starts. For larger batch orders or specific requirements, get in touch directly.

Common Questions About Custom Engraving

How long does custom engraving take?  Engraving is completed as part of the production run. For standard orders, allow the same lead time as a regular MagnetMate order. Larger batch orders , contact us first to confirm timing.

Can you engrave a company logo, not just text?  Yes. The xTool P3's 5W infrared module handles logo detail cleanly on aluminium, including fine lines and tight margins. A high-res vector file gives the best result.

Is the engraving visible when clips are in use?  The MagnetMate logo faces inward, sitting against the body. The client logo faces outward, away from the body. In use, both are hidden: the clip sits beneath the lapel pack or wireless comms unit, keeping the engraving out of sight during the show. Where it does the work is off stage. Bump-in, bump-out, kit management. Your logo is visible every time someone picks up a clip.

Does engraving affect the magnetic strength or clip performance?  No. Engraving is surface-only and does not affect the aluminium body, magnet assembly, or clip mechanism.
